This is my baby, Brynn in her Christmas coat.
Join me to share Friday Facts or #fridayfacts on Twitter. I'd love to know how your week was, writing related or otherwise!
It's been a cold week in Minnesota. Below zero temperatures and very small amounts of snow. A lot of slick roads. Yesterday I ran out to pick my nephew up from school and the doors on my van were frozen closed. Thank goodness the driver's door opened. My mom had to climb in through the back. It took about twenty minutes for the interior to defrost enough to open the doors. Oh, such a cold place, Minnesota. I knew winter would show up eventually.
- News on the writing front:
Amazon has released some numbers on the lending library on their KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) program. The pool was $500,000 dollars and author's have earned $1.70 per lend. I personally haven't had any huge lending numbers but there are quite a few authors who are raking it in at the moment. J. Konrath, Amanda Hocking, as well as too many other authors to name. And by the way, sales for most everyone are skyrocketing. Exciting stuff!
Okay, not a color but I'm painting the interior of our place. Just a crisp white. Our house is pretty small and not only is the white clean but it makes everything seem bigger. Let's face it. Size matters.
What have you been up to this week? Any fabulous weekend plans?
Have a good one and be safe out there,
Taylor

Just reading about your weather makes me colder, lol! I'm finishing up my WIP (a Quickie)before sending off to crit partner before it goes off to my editor.
Wish I had some exciting plans but my weekend outlook includes staying warm and organizing my office a bit more:)
I hear that, Paris! Organizing...oh, you said the O word! lol
I feel for you, having to bundle up to survive the cold. I'm living a little more south now, but I sometimes miss the snow. I don't miss freezing rain and sub-zero temperatures though. Best of luck to you.
I'm still considering whether or not to use the new KDP program for my next novel. That exclusivity clause makes it a tough decision.
Hi Ellison! Good to see you here. Thanks dropping by.
To top it off, we had a Fri 13th incident...my mom closed the wood stove door and the glass shattered. So, we now have tons of firewood and must find a new wood stove. lol Story of my life, I tell you.
That worried me too, Ellison. But, I figured this whole industry is a risk for an author, you know. We took a risk just going with Amazon KDP in the first place. I was doing decent at Barnes and Noble and that worried me too.
Going with KDP for the lending library, going exclusive, best thing I have EVER done for my sales. They have skyrocketed. I'm not talking about J. Konrath numbers but for me, for a new book, compared to the sales I was making...hell yeah.
The ladies at IBC (Indie Book Collective) have had skyrocketing numbers that perhaps rival Joe's.
I'm hearing great stories everywhere. Yeah, I say go for it. But then, I think it's something each of us should weigh in on before deciding. I'm just glad I didn't miss out on the ride!
Thanks for commenting, Mr. James!
